Reserve Saints plates through coast science center

Saints fans in Mississippi can support science education in the state by reserving a license plate celebrating the team’s 2010 NFL championship.

The Infinity Science Center will receive most of the additional $50 fee from each commemorative plate, 300 of which are now available for pre-sell through Infinity Science Center’s website.

The plate has a black-and-gold fleur-de-lis and the Super Bowl XLIV logo — the same design as one in Louisiana.

The plates are only available to residents of Mississippi and can only be purchased for a vehicle currently licensed in Mississippi.

Infinity said Monday that 300 tags must be pre-sold before the Mississippi State Tax Commission will begin production of the specialty plates.

Infinity Science Center is a tourist attraction being built at NASA’s Stennis Space Center in coastal Hancock County near the Louisiana border. The museum is expected to open this year. It will include a 3-D theater, earth- and space-themed galleries, and interactive exhibits.
