On Monday, March 5, Melinda Vitale Shaw presented Bettie Cashion, of the SPCA, with a check for 10 percent of sales from  MeLinda’s Sixth Annual SPCA Fundraiser/Adoption Drive, which was held on March 3.

Vitale Shaw said, “The event is always successful. We let the community know that on this day, when they bring donations for the shelter in, we give them 10 percent off of their purchases. At the end of the day we give the shelter a check for 10 percent of sales.”

The event was held at the Top of the Hill location for MeLinda’s. In addition to the MeLinda’s check donation, it brought in  $89 in direct donations to the shelter, besides toys and supplies, which customers brought in. Five dog adoptions were made as result of the event.

Cashion said, “We appreciate Melinda doing this for us each year. It’s fun and we are able to reach a broad range of people. She also gives us other donations throughout the year.”

Vitale Shaw said, “This annual event is something we hold near and dear to our hearts. Both Brad and I love the animals and are thrilled to be part of something that contributes to their welfare on such a large scale.”
