Tropical Update: Karl makes landfall, Igor and Julia weakening

TROPICAL WEATHER —  Hurricane Karl was at 19.1N, 96.6 W over land in Mexico was moving west-southwest at 9 mph at 4 p.m. Friday with winds of 90 mph and weakening. Hurricane Igor was at 23.7N, 61.1W at 4 p.m. CDT Friday with winds of 105 mph moving  northwest at 10 mph. Hurricane Julia was at 25.2N, 48.2W at 4 p.m. Friday with winds of 75 mph and weakening as it moves west-northwest at 18 mph. An area of showers and thunderstorms south of the Cape Verde Islands is associated with a low pressure system and slow development is possible as the system moves west-northwest. There is a 10 percent chance the system could become a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.
