I want to know who and why?

Who are you that could just throw a cat away like trash? Then the cat comes to me through the woods begging for something to eat. I start feeding it my leftovers. Then I start thinking — how could anyone do this?

After about two weeks, I notice the cat is getting a very big tummy. I knew if wasn’t the cat food that I had bought for her. She just couldn’t be getting that fat in just two weeks. I kept feeding her, and low and behold, four of the cutest babies came into my world.

Me-Ah, as I call her, had her babies in my ferns on October 20. The next couple of days the rains came, so I took them and moved them to my laundry room. She moved them back to the ferns, I moved them back to the laundry room. Finally, Me-Ah gave up and let them stay.

For about seven weeks, as I played with them, “momma” didn’t like me. She would spit and yowl. I had to take the kittens to the SPCA. I didn’t want to give them to just anyone. I want to know they will go to someone who will love and care for them. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do.

Me-Ah still looks for her babies, and I still feel guilty for taking them from her. Now she has been spayed and I won’t have to go through this again. Me-Ah and I have become very close.

I just wonder…how could you throw her way like trash? Who and why?
