PENNIES FOR YOUR PARK — Work resumed at Friendship Park as part of the Pennies for Your Park II renovation effort. On Thursday, volunteers were out in force installing new wood and expanding the footprint of the playground. Above, volunteers and members of Picayune Junior High’s art class tear up the old liner under the playground before adding new filler, liner and mulch. At right, volunteers add a personal touch to the renovations by using a jig saw and sander to add the accents to this tower top. Also on Thursday, Junior High students worked on a mural of Hobolochitto Creek.
