$13M in Katrina grants awarded to Miss.

Mississippi has received over $13 million in federal grants related to Hurricane Katrina.

Republican Sens. Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker say the cities of Pass Christian, Long Beach and D’Iberville, along with the Bay St. Louis School District has received the funds released by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Pass Christian has received over $6.7 million for restoration of its damaged infrastructure, including the repair and replacement of roads, bridges, curbs, and gutters.

Long Beach has gotten about $1.98 million for the repair and replacement of roads and bridges and D’Iberville has received about $1.16 million for restoration of public utilities.

The Bay St. Louis School District has received about $3.5 million for the relocation of an elementary school.
