State Farm to resume writing home policies in MS

State Farm will resume writing homeowners’ insurance policies for a majority of the state starting June 15.

A company spokesman said Tuesday that residents in Harrison, Hancock and Jackson counties are excluded from the company’s policy change. In January, the company resumed selling renters insurance in the state — except in those three counties.

Illinois-based State Farm, the state’s largest insurer, stopped writing new homeowners and renters policies following Hurricane Katrina.
