Roseland Park Elementary School celebrated World Bee Day on Monday with an all-day event focused on educating students about bees. The event featured various activities organized by the school’s Bee Committee, formed by Focus teacher Summer Jacobsen and supported by the school principals.

Jacobsen initially introduced a unit on bees in her classroom, which generated interest throughout the school. In response, the Bee Committee planned and implemented activities for students to engage in both in the classroom and on the playground.

Students participated in bee-themed crafts and a Bee Escape Room, where they had to learn bee-related facts to solve puzzles. Local beekeepers were also present to show students bee boxes and frames and to answer questions about beekeeping and the role of bees in the environment.

The event aimed to provide an educational experience, highlight the importance of bees, and promote environmental awareness among the students.

“We wanted to make learning about bees engaging for the entire school,” said Jacobsen.
