Picayune Police Make Drug Arrest Following Suspicious Vehicle Report

Patrol Officers from the Picayune Police Department responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle on the property at 311 Telly Road on April 29, 2024.

Upon arrival, officers encountered John Connell Ellis. Paraphernalia was observed in plain view inside a nearby storage shed during the interaction with Ellis. Following this observation, a search of Ellis was conducted, revealing his possession of methamphetamine.

Special Operations Detectives were summoned to the scene to investigate further. A search warrant was swiftly obtained and executed on the storage shed. Within the shed, detectives discovered items indicative of drug distribution, including scales, baggies, and additional quantities of methamphetamine.

As a result of the investigation, Ellis was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute within 1500 feet of a church.
