Graveside Funeral Services for Morris Wilmon Downes, age 78, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020, were held Monday, June 1, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at New Palestine Cemetery.

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Bro. James Reeves, Bro. Wesley Downes and Bro. Scott Downes officiated the service.
A native of Nicholson, MS, he was a retired painter and a member of Westlawn Baptist Church. Wilmon was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Jefferson Downes, Jr. and Velma Patch Downes; his son, John Morris Downes; and his brother, James “Jimmy” Edward Downes.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Sybil Laurie Baucum Downes; his daughter, Sybil Marie Stockstill; 2 grandchildren, Shalyn (Zach) Miller, and Shaina Stockstill; his brother, George Wesley (Laurie) Downes; and nieces and nephews.
