Picayune Police officers arrest two for armed robbery

The Picayune Police Department arrested two men, Jaylon Juwon Jenkins, 26, and Decorion Devon Myers, 25, for an armed robbery that occurred on April 30 at the Blue Spruce Apartments.

Victims told police that at approximately 5 p.m. on Thursday Jenkins, of 81 South Fork Lot A, Carriere, and an unknown man robbed them in the parking lot of Blue Spruce Apartments, 2801 Cooper Rd.

Victims said the two men pointed handguns at them and demanded money. According to a press release from the police department, Jenkins grew agitated because the victims did not give him money. The release states that Jenkins hit one of them on the side of their head with his handgun.

The two men then took approximately $150 from the victims before fleeing on foot, the release states.

Within an hour of the incident, police located Jenkins and Myers at 1004 Timberwood Lane. The victims positively identified Myers, of 2105 Cousin St., Picayune, as the unknown man allegedly with Jenkins when the robbery occurred.

The two men were taken into custody and each have $25,000 bonds for armed robbery. The Mississippi Department of Corrections has also placed holds on Jenkins and Myers for probation violations.
