Wednesday, the Farmers Market of Picayune was open for customers to walk through rather than drive-thru. The farmers market had transitioned to drive-thru only due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but has since reopened for customers to walk through again. A drive-thru option was still offered for customers who needed it.

The Farmers Market of Picayune is a go-to for anyone looking for homemade baked goods, fresh produce and even pickled quail eggs.

Jessica Helgerson sells homegrown vegetables and produce at her booth at the farmers market. The vegetables are picked fresh from her garden. Helgerson said she has been gardening for more than five years.

“I love [the farmers market],” Scott said. “It helps people get foods they wouldn’t find in the store. It’s without all the preservatives they use in stores.”
