Leon “Len” Robert Barnum of Ceasar, Mississippi passed away Wednesday May 6, 2020 in the comfort of his home, at the age of 80 after a short battle with cancer.

Len was a resident of the Caesar Community for 34 years and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He was a retired Warehouse Manager and worked at Dupont, Delisle for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman, a craftsman in wood, leather, and anything else that struck his fancy, and a farmer in his retirement years. Len was a Bible scholar and Sunday School teacher, and a storyteller. Len loved to travel with his family, especially to his favorite mountains in Colorado. After retirement Len was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of going to Alaska and canoeing The Yukon River and hunting big game.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Barnum; step-mother Sylvia Barnum; two sons, Robert Mason Barnum (Bonnie) and Joseph “Joby” Barnum; one daughter, Rhonda Barnum Brinlee; two brothers, Brian Dufrene (Roxanne) and Philip Dufrene (Jamie); one sister, Kathy Horne (Ronnie); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Hyde Barnum, and Dora Adams Dufrene.

Due to the COVID-19 regulations a private celebration of Len’s life for family and close friends will be held at the Barnum home on Saturday, May 9, 2020.
