Joe Lee Thompson was born January 29, 1939 to the late Julia Hunter Jordan and the late Horace Jordan-Thompson in Hattiesburg, MS. At an early age, Joe Lee accepted Christ as his personal Savior.

Joe was raised in Hattiesburg, MS, and lived most of his younger years there. He relocated to Picayune, and began to work in the logging field. He was a very hard worker. He loved to check on his neighbors. And every morning his ritual was coffee and donuts.

On May 21 , 2020, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS, the Lord reached down from heaven and took Joe by the hand. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Jordan-Thompson and Julia Hunter Jordan; one son, Joe Lee Thompson, Jr.; and twelve siblings.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: one daughter, Doan “Donna” Thompson, of Hattiesburg; two step-daughters, Joanne (Carey) Armstrong of Picayune, MS and Tammy Pittman of Picayune, MS; three sons, Henry Lee Gaddis, Joseph Thompson, and Alphonso Thompson (Gwen), all of Picayune; one sister, Mary Ann Kimbrough, of Racine, WI; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Walk through will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Home.

Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home.
