Poplarville’s parks will undergo updates that include plans for a pavilion at City Square Park and parking lot improvements at City Park.

The Poplarville Board of Aldermen approved the final drawings for a pavilion and bathrooms at City Square Park and authorized advertising for bids to construct the pavilion. The project is being funded by a $150,000 grant from the Mississippi Development Authority.

The pavilion will sit at the north end of the park and have a footprint of approximately 1,400 square feet, said Architect Christian Landry of Landry, Lewis, and Germany Architects. The pavilion will be a wood and steel structure that will include a partially covered concrete stage.
