The Picayune Police Department investigated a report of shots being fired in the city limits Wednesday.

A firearm was discharged in the city limits on Nixon St. at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, said Assistant Chief of Police Dustin Moeller.

The case is being investigated by the Picayune Police Department and the police have a person of interest, Moeller said. No one was injured in the incident and there was no property damage. Police believe the incident was isolated, he said.
