Funeral Services for Douglas Randy McKellip, age 76, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Thursday, January 23, 2020, will be held Monday, January 27, 2020, at 1:00 pm at Roseland Park Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Monday, January  27, 2020 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Roseland Park Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Gipson Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Rev. Dan Young will officiate the service.

A native of Ceasar Community, MS, he returned with his family to Picayune in 1976, where he opened and operated the Sonic Drive-In for 37 years. “Mr. Doug” was the first boss for countless Pearl River County residents, many of whom he kept in contact with until his passing. Doug was a member and a former Deacon of Roseland Park Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, watching football, and spending time with his grandchildren. Doug was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth George McKellip and Irese Landrum McKellip; and his sister, Juan Ellen Hunt.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Nancy Sutton McKellip; his children, Hope (Mike) Bass, Rodney (Sally) McKellip, and Sara (Martin) Cabrera; 3 grandchildren, Grace McKellip, Jack McKellip, and Juliana Cabrera; and his sister, Marte Landry.
