Picayune police are investigating an incident outside of the Picayune Walmart Saturday that ended with one man being stabbed.
Picayune Police Assistant Chief Dustin Moeller said that at about 5 p.m. Saturday a 43-year-old black man was stabbed by a 33-year-old white man outside of the entrance to the Picayune Walmart.
The man who was stabbed was transported by AAA Ambulance to Highland Community Hospital, then airlifted by helicopter to Forrest General in Hattiesburg, Moeller said. The incident is still under investigation, so details are limited to a motive being probably due to a misunderstanding that turned into an altercation outside of the Walmart entrance, Moeller said.
