Pearl River County resident Cynthia Holland, 43, was killed in a fatal car collision Wednesday. Two other people suffered serious injuries.

The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department responded to the two vehicle crash at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday on George Ford near CW Moore Road, said Capt. Joe Quave.

At the time of the collision, a gray Nissan Altima driven by Holland was westbound on the road and a white Toyota Camry was traveling east. The two vehicles collided on the south side of the roadway, Quave said. Deputy Coroner Albert Lee identified the driver as Cynthia Holland.

During the collision, the driver suffered fatal injuries, Quave said.

The Camry was driven by Elvin Boudreaux and in the passenger seat was Lori Bodreaux, said Quave. Both occupants of the Camry suffered serious injuries and were taken from the scene by ambulance to area hospitals, before being flown by helicopter to another hospital, Quave said.

Investigation into a cause of the accident shows that the driver of the gray Nissan Altima apparently crossed the center of the roadway into the opposite lane, Quave said. Toxicology results are pending on both drivers and the crash is still under investigation, Quave said.
