Funeral service will be held Sat., Sept. 14, 2019 at noon in Hart Chapel Baptist Church for Johnnie Douglas Hart, age 64, of Gulfport, MS, who died Sept. 5, 2019 in Gulfport, MS.

Rev. George Tillman will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Hart Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.

A native of Poplarville, MS, he served in the United States Navy. He retired from Hunter-Ingals Shipyard.  He was a member of Hart Chapel Baptist Church. 

Survivors include his wife, Lenora Hart of Gulfport, MS; 2 sons, Joshua Hart and Jamie Hart; 1 daughter, Shayla Brown of Gulfport, MS; 1 sister Mae Aarron, of Poplarville, MS; 2 brothers Paul Hart of Aurora, CO, and Ernest “Pete” Hart of Poplarville, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Bishop I. and Daisy Hart; siblings, Bishop I. Hart Jr., Clemmie  Gaddis, Carrie Washington, Gloria McKinley, Evelyn Powe, Helen Burnett, and Neil Cotton. Visitation is Sat. Sept 14, 2019 from 11 a.m., until 12 p.m., at Hart Chapel Baptist Church under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
