Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at New Hebron Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Philip McSwain will officiate at the service.  Rev. K. Marin Thomas is Pastor.

Danny Burkett, Jr. was born June 26, 1971 in Picayune, MS to the late Danny Burkett, Sr.  and Joyce Rochel-Burkett.  He was the first born of 5 children.

He was baptized at a young age at New Hebron Baptist Church under the leadership of late Rev. R.D. Jackson and was a faithful member of the Brotherhood, Junior Usher Board, and Sunday School.

Danny was a graduate of Pearl River Central High, class of 1992, and attended and graduated from Pearl River Community College, class of 1994, with a certificate in HVAC.

He was a senior care giver for Carlton Senior Center in Concord, CA.

On Friday, September 6, 2019, God called his child home to rest at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, CA.

Preceded in death by his father, Danny Burkett, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Hance and Betty Mae Walker; paternal grandmother, Ruby Burkett; great-grandparents, Elmer and Delia Rochel; and great-aunt, Christer Bell Lindsey.

Danny leaves to cherish his loving memory, his mother, Joyce Rochel of Berkeley, CA; one sister, Lashanda Burkett-Must of Vallejo, CA; four brothers, Paul Gue-Burkett of Champaign, IL, Charles Nicholas Burkett of Las Vegas, NV, Mario Lamar (Nyreki Brewer) Jones of Berkeley, CA and Buford Lee White, II of Richmond, CA; three uncles, James (Valrie) Walker, Michael Walker, and Lovell (Barbara Magee) Walker; four aunts, Michelle Walker-Fields, Debra (Rev. Phillip) McSwain, Denise Mark and Annette Tubbs;  one special great-aunt, Mollie Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Interment will be in the New Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery.

Repast will be in the New Hebron Baptist Church fellowship hall.
