The Senior Center of South Pearl River County is preparing for its annual fall garage sale on Friday September 6.
Proceeds from the garage sale help pay for utility bills, fund the free classes offered at the center such as ceramics and support programming like the weekly beanbag baseball, said Participation Coordinator Kathleen Penton.
“This money helps us to keep our doors open,” Penton said. “Without our fundraisers, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do for the seniors.”
The center is accepting all donations for the garage sale, and will be selling items such as dishes, clothes and lamps, Penton said. Anyone who would like to donate to the garage sale can call the center or come in to drop off items, Penton said.
The garage sale will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Senior Center’s ballroom, Penton said. The center will accept cash or checks, but is not set up to accept credit cards, Penton said. People are always welcome to donate to the Senior Center, Penton said.
“We’d love for the public to come and help support the Senior Center,” Penton said.
The center can be contacted at 601-798-9892.
