Unofficial results from Tuesday’s primary election

Tuesday’s primary election results show that a runoff will be needed in some races to determine which candidates will move on to the General Election.
Results listed below include 26 of 26 precincts within Pearl River County and pertain only to contested races. They are unofficial until all votes are counted, including affidavit and absentee votes.
Republican Primary
In the race for Governor, Tate Reeves received 4,991, Bill Waller Jr. received 2,071 and Robert Foster received 1,819 votes.
In the race for Lieutenant Governor, Delbert Hosemann received 6,107, and Shane Quick received 2,316 votes.
In the race for Secretary of State, Sam Britton received 4,620 and Michael Watson received 3,676 votes.
In the race for Attorney General, Lynn Fitch received 3,492, Mark Baker received 2,522 and Andy Taggart received 2,332 votes.
In the race for State Treasurer, David McRae received 4,521 and Eugene Clarke received 3,665 votes.
In the race for Public Service Commissioner, Dane Maxwell received 4,713 and Kelvin Schulz received 3,076 votes.
In the race for Transportation Commissioner, Tony Smith received 5,190, Tom King received 2,648 and Chad Toney received 759 votes.
In the race for State Senate District 47, Joseph Mike Seymour received 2,029 and C.T. Switzer received 804 votes.
In the race for State House of Representative District 106, Jansen Owen received 1,857, John Glen Corley received 1,292, Greg Holcomb received 662, and Ben Winston received 336 votes.
In the race for Chancery Clerk, incumbent Melinda Bowman received 5,398 and Lisa Graves received 3,372 votes.
In the race for Circuit Clerk, incumbent Nance Stokes received 6,189 and Tony Bounds received 2,506 votes.
In the race for County Prosecuting Attorney, Mike Patten received 4,727 and Gerald Patch received 3,804 votes.
In the race for Tax Assessor Collector, Gary Beech received 5,576 and Hannah Breland received 3,189 votes.
In the race for Supervisor District 2, incumbent Malcolm Perry received 1,379 and Ernie Clark received 1,009 votes.
In the race for District 3 Supervisor, incumbent Hudson Holliday received 1,273, Carl Ladner received 837 and Trey Galmiche received 273 votes.
In the race for District 4 Supervisor, incumbent Farron Moeller received 624, Jason Spence received 517, Kathy Fayard Aden received 259 and Joseph Amos Nix received 28 votes.
In the race for District 5 Supervisor, incumbent Sandy Kane Smith received 1,322, Richard Lloyd Crawford received 271 and Adam Spiers received 184 votes.
In the race for Southeast District Justice Court Judge, Donald D. Fail received 1,522 and Jim Gray received 994 votes.
In the race for North District Justice Court, Larry Head received 1,549, Benjamin Breland received 1,469 and George ‘Trent’ Boyd received 1,096 votes.
In the race for Constable North District, Danny Joe Slade received 2,893 and Joe Garcia received 1,295 votes.
In the race for Constable Southeast District, Ray Bennett received 1,312 and Larry ‘Dusty’ Dillard received 1,157 votes.
Democratic Primary
In the race for Governor, Jim Hood received 460, Velesha P. Williams received 120, Michael Brown received 104, Robert Shuler Smith received 28, Albert Wilson received 20, Gregory Wash received 16, William Bond Compton Jr. received 15 and Robert J. Ray received 11 votes.
In the race for Secretary of State Johnny DuPree received 590 and Mayra Hodges Hunt received 176 votes.
In the race for Public Service Commissioner, Connie Moran received 577 and Sugar Stallings received 153 votes.
