Funeral Services for Mildred Lumpkin Smith, age 88, of Carriere, MS, will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church of Carriere. She passed away Friday, August 2, 2019, due to natural causes, surrounded by her loving family,
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 6, 2019 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at First Baptist Church of Carriere.
Burial will be in Carriere Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Dr. Cody Warren will officiate the service.
A native of Cullman, AL, she was a Clerk and a member of First Baptist Church of Carriere. Mildred enjoyed reading, gardening, painting pictures, bowling, and spending time with her family was her greatest joy.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 15 years who was the father of her daughters, Vernal Leroy Lumpkin and her second husband, Delbert Smith; parents, James M. Roberts and Rilla Whisenhunt Roberts; brothers and sisters, James M. Roberts Jr., Nell Hartford, Fayenell Roberts, and Cortez Roberts.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Pam (Mark) Johnson; Donna (Steve) Patch, and Wendy Lee; grandchildren, Jennifer Carter, Jake (April) Johnson, and Lyndsey Lee; great grandchildren, Victoria Carter, Collin Carter, Korbin Cheatham, and Kiann Cheatham; sister, Ruth Benefield.
