Election Guide for the 2019 Primary

The primary election will be held August 6 and voters must be registered by July 8 to vote. On Election Day, polling places will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Candidates for Mississippi Governor are; Michael Brown (D), William Bond Compton Jr. (D), Jim Hood (D), Robert J. Ray (D), Robert Shuler Smith (D), Gregory Wash (D), Velesha P. Williams (D), Albert Wilson (D), Robert Foster (R), Tate Reeves (R) and Bill Waller Jr. (R).
Candidates in the race for Lieutenant Governor are; Jay Hughes (D), Delbert Hosemann (R) and Shane Quick (R).
Candidates for Mississippi Secretary of State are; Johnny DuPree (D), Maryra Hodges Hunt (D), Sam Britton (R) and Michael Watson (R).
Candidates for Attorney General are; Jennifer Riley Collins (D), Mark Baker (R), Lynn Fitch (R) and Andy Taggart (R).
In the race for State Auditor, incumbent Shad White (R) is running unopposed.
Candidates for Mississippi State Treasurer are; Addie Lee Green (D), Eugene S. ‘Buck’ Clarke (R) and David McRae (R).
In the race for Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce incumbent Andy Gipson (R) is running against Ricky L Cole (D).
In the race for Commissioner of Insurance, incumbent Mike Chaney (R) is running against Robert E. Amos (D).
