Societies are influenced by the thoughts and desires of various groups that desire to move the whole social mass in a certain direction without individuals being aware of the direction which they are going. Sometimes it is possible to resist the controlling factors. At a certain point it becomes impossible for a society to resist and we lose the power of decision over the direction we are going.
Over the last 100 years, I believe we are traveling toward a socialistic society.
We are losing constitutional freedom and free enterprise and moving toward socialism and big government.
Just look at every nation that has tried socialism and see how it has failed. Socialists believe that big government does everything for everybody.
Hollywood is pushing Liberal ideas, a group of people who could not be more make believe. They have no idea what is going on. We do not need the Federal control of education. It needs to be returned to local and state governments .
Medicare and Medicaid need to be controlled by the states. The Federal Government doesn’t have any money to give to the states that it does not take out of the states. “Federal Aid” is as phony as a three-dollar bill. Every welfare dollar shrinks as it passes through political hands.
Local government knows more about solving local problems than the federal government.
People have more pride when they are allowed the freedom, opportunity and resources to take care of themselves rather than have the government telling them what and how they can live.
I am 88-years-old. My father was a Baptist preacher. He taught me that none of God’s creation was to be hated. He would kneel down and pray for or with anybody regardless of race or color. He firmly believed everybody had a place in God’s kingdom.
Today people will say anything about anybody even if there is not an ounce of truth in it.
It appears there is no integrity in the world. Recently a teacher said that our people in uniform were the “lowest of the low.” I have had occasions to be associated with a number of people in the military since we have gone to the all volunteer service.
I can say we are more selective who gets into the military than under the draft. Also, there is much more opportunity for education and development now than in the past. We have got some fine young people in our services. That teacher does not know what he was talking about. He should apologize and should not even be teaching .
Socialism is a creeping movement , moves with the times of people’s emotions or public opinions but is not supported by facts. It works inside groups such as political parties.
Often it is undetected until opinions have been changed. We must be aware of these tides that change our way of life.
Personally I do not want the federal government telling me what I can do and how I can do it. Socialism comes at us that we can sit back and not worry because government is going to do everything for us. Don’t be sucked in with this falsehood.
The tides of change come at us from all types of people. Many of them meaning well, but misguided. They are sincere but dead wrong. We must hold true to the values that made this nation the greatest nation on Earth.
