The Senior Center of South Pearl River County, along with St. Joseph Hospice, will host the 5th annual shrimp boil on June 21 starting at 11:30 a.m.
At the event, guests will be served shrimp provided by St. Joseph Hospice. There will also be boiled potatoes and corn, drinks and dessert, said Kathleen Penton, the center’s participant coordinator.
Penton said the event is open to all senior citizens in the community and encourages everyone to participate in a day filled with fun and activities.
The center will also feature games and line dancing.
Officials from the city, county, law enforcement agencies and fire departments are also invited to attend, Penton said.
So far about 130 people have signed up for the event. Penton said that anyone who is interested has until June 19 to sign up.
The shrimp boil is one of the most anticipated events at the center, Penton said.
Interested parties can RSVP by sending an email to email@example.com or calling the center at 601-798-9892, Penton said.
The center is located at 45 El Patch Parkway in Picayune.
