Melvin Malone Hunt

Melvin Malone Hunt, aged 81, of Picayune, Mississippi, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Leon Hickman officiating. Burial will be at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa, Louisiana, under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.
Melvin had lived in Picayune for 50 years, was the owner of Hunts Electric, and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He loved his family and his horses.
He is survived by his children’s mother and friend Ann Carroll Hunt, two sons: Kenneth Boyd Hunt (Pam) and David Malone Hunt, both of Picayune; one daughter: Susan Ann Hunt of Picayune; three sisters: Wanzie Daniel of Walker, Louisiana (Tommy); Betty Erwin of Franklinton, Louisiana (John); and Linda Wilkinson of Central, Louisiana (Kevin); six grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and one great-great-grandson, and his care givers; Roger Hart Line and Chris Bean.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thurman Hunt and Myrtle Leonard Hunt, three brothers: Leroy Hunt, Lillard Hunt, and Charles Ray Hunt; one sister, Ruth Byrd; and one grandson, Wesley Frierson.
