Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Matthews Baptist Church. 

Pastor Rev. Dr. Michael Kelley will officiate at the service.

Debbie Newsome was born to Willa Kirby on September 6, 1959 in San Diego, California. 

She graduated from Lincoln High School in San Diego. California.

As a young adult Debbie visited Picayune, Mississippi; although she would leave from time to time.  She always seemed to return to Picayune.  She joined St. Matthews Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Kelley. 

She worked previously as a clerk for the United States Navy and Certified Nurse’s Assistant. But more recently she worked at Hardee’s Restaurant in Picayune.

On Sunday, May 20, 2018 she answered her Master’s Call at Highland Community Hospital at the age of 58.

She leaves to cherish her memories her beautiful mother, Willa Kirby of Memphis, Tennessee; a  loving daughter,  Andrea (Skyler) Gilliam of San Diego, California; two devoted sons, Denzel Newsome of San Diego, California and Terry Fowler of Picayune, Mississippi;  one adorable granddaughter Ceaira Gilliam of San Diego, California; siblings, Edward Robinson of San Diego, California,  Margella Rose, Virginna Rose, Nathaniel (Joyce) Rose of Memphis, Tennessee, and Philander Rose; Special Cousin, Kristy McMillian  of Bakersfield, California; Special Friends Tina Buckley, Stephanie Hinds, and Lucinda James; Special Special Friend Mrs. Charlene ( Marvin) Arnold of Picayune, Mississippi; Special God-Aunt Alberta Parker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
