Alleged Walmart robber arrested in Monroe, La

According to a release from the New Orleans FBI Field Office, Terry Madison III, 22, 2808 Clara St., New Orleans, La., was arrested Sunday for the alleged robbery of two Walmart money centers and a bank. One of the money centers is located in Picayune.

According to the release, Madison was arrested May 20 at about 12:30 p.m. by the Monroe Police Department. They were able to take him into custody without incident, the release states. After being transported to a correctional center, he was charged with Hobbs Act Robbery, which includes extortion by violence, force or by fear, the release states. The release also states that he may face additional charges.

According to previous coverage, on May 2, Madison allegedly entered the Picayune Walmart, approached cashiers at the money center and demanded money. He handed them a note, which told them if they complied, no one would be hurt. The cashiers gave him an undetermined amount of money and Madison fled the Walmart, previous coverage states.  According to the release, before allegedly robbing the Picayune Walmart, Madison also allegedly robbed the Woodforest National Bank in the Walmart in Waveland the same day and allegedly robbed a Walmart money center in Hammond, La., on April 14.
