Law enforcement agencies around the coast look for alleged thief

The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department and several other law enforcement agencies in the Gulf Coast are in search of Jason Eugene Conaway.

Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Investigator Marc Ogden said Conaway, 39, was last seen in the Gulfport area. Conaway is wanted by the Gulfport Police Department for a count of grand larceny due to his alleged involvement in the theft of a trailer.

Ogden Conaway is wanted in Pearl River County for three counts of possession of stolen property, three counts of burglary and three counts of grand larceny. Ogden said that the local warrants are due to his alleged involvement in the theft of one Ford truck and two trailers.

Lieutenant of International Investigations with the Wiggins City Police Department Roger Freeman said Conaway is wanted by that department for four warrants; two for grand larceny and two for commercial burglary.

Ogden said Conaway also faces outstanding warrants from the Picayune Police Department. Calls to the Picayune Police Department for additional details were not returned by press time.

Conaway is described as having green eyes, brown hair and standing about 5’11 tall. He also has a tear drop tattoo under his right eye.

Ogden said Conaway is suspected of having a habit of stealing from storage units and illegally taking Ford trucks. Anyone with information concerning his location is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 601-799-CLUE (2583) or contact the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department at 601-798-5528.
