Funeral Services for Evelyn T. Jones, age 88, of Picayune, Mississippi, who passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, was held Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Picayune.

Visitation was Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Picayune.

Burial was in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Rev. Matt Law officiated the service, assisted by Dr. Keith Warden.

Born in Gainesville, Mississippi, she was a Homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Picayune. Evelyn was a member of the Truthseekers Sunday School Class and served in the Church Nursery for several years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur T. Taylor and Lena Davis Taylor; her husband of 67 years, John D. Jones Jr.; and her sister, Jimmie Henry.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Richard D. (Marsha) Jones, and her daughter, Lynn (Limon) Cooper; six grandchildren, Kelly Cooper, Keri Glasscock, Jennifer (Matt) Law, Kesha (Nicky) Jarrell, Kacy (Erik) Castro, and Garret (Erika) Jones; 12 great grandchildren; her brothers-in-law, Hardy Henry and Patrick (Barbara) Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wants to say a special thank you to Sheila McCraney and Sheila Walker Smith, who loved and cared so much for our mother.
