Memorial Services for Jeannine McClendon Burgess, age 87, of Picayune, Mississippi, who passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018, will be held Monday, February 19, 2018, at 2:00 pm at New Palestine Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Monday, February 19, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at New Palestine Baptist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Dr. Josh Braddy will officiate the service.

A native of Ponca City, Oklahoma, she was a retired PR/Development Director at Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home and a member of New Palestine Baptist Church. Jeannine was a former member of the Board of Directors for the Senior Center.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Harold McClendon, Sr. and Exie Olean Campbell McClendon; her husband, Reginald Timothy Burgess; her brothers, Lindsay McClendon, Weaver McClendon, and Harold McClendon; and her sister, Mattie Hanes.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Regina Lynn Burgess and Lauri Jean Phares; her four grandchildren, Lauri Anne (Will) Schaefer, Amanda Jeannine (Brian) Simpson, James Travis (Heather) Phares, and Cory Lee (Holly Bordelon) Phares; her eight great grandchildren, Kylin, Sawyer, and Lyric Phares, Grayson Hutchins. Abigail and Liam Schaefer, and Emily and Lily Simpson; her sister, Vonceil Tapp; and many nieces and nephews.
