The SCW Heavyweight Champion and a number of other contenders are expected to compete.

Tickets will cost $8 and anyone with a military ID will receive a discount. Kids under five will be admitted for free and the doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with the show starting an hour later.

The following week on Dec. 16, the American Legion will host its first Santa’s Workshop event. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

During the event, children and their families will have an opportunity to participate in various activities, including making ornaments for veterans, writing letters to Santa Claus and shopping for Christmas presents from the many booths that will be on-site.

Children will also have an opportunity to have their picture taken with Santa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Picture packages will cost $15.

“We hold different events throughout the year in order to help veterans and their families,” Harvey-Lehmann said. “We raise money for veterans in order to help them and their family financially. Helping veterans is our way of giving back to the community.”
