The Pearl River County SPCA will run a lower adoption fee for all cats and kittens within the next week.
Between Dec. 15 and Dec. 26, the adoption fee for all cats will be $26 and for all kittens will be $40, which is less than half the regular fee, PRC SPCA public relations representative Maria Diamond said.
Combined, the shelter currently houses about 55 cats and kittens. All the cats and kittens are spayed and neutered, very well socialized, good with dogs and they’re the perfect pet for anyone, Diamond said.
According to previous coverage, the PRC SPCA partnered with Lakeshore of Picayune for an adoption event where the adoption fees for all animals will be 50 percent off.
The event will take place on Dec. 16 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. For anyone not interested in adopting a pet, Lakeshore will also accept donations for the animal shelter. Items donated include paper products, food for cats and dogs and blankets, Lakeshore of Picayune General Manager Clint Favre said.
Lakeshore of Picayune is located at 251 Frontage Rd.
Diamond said pictures and information of all the animals from the animal shelter could be found at prcspca.org. For more information, contact Diamond at (601) 347-3667.
“With all the kids at home because of the holiday break, this is a perfect time to bring home a new pet,” Diamond said. “I also appreciate the support from Lakeshore of Picayune and everyone in the community who supports the animal shelter. Our goal is to find the animals a home where they can be loved.”
