A Pearl River County man was arrested by the Picayune Police Department after a safety check found he was in possession of a substance suspected to be methamphetamine.

According to departmental reports, officers were conducting a safety checkpoint near Liberty Road and Highway 43 North on Nov. 15, when Brian Scott Campbell, 42, of 2274 Highway 53 South, pulled up. As the officer checked his driver’s license and insurance information, he noticed that Campbell was acting nervously. The officer then asked him to pull to the roadside after investigative techniques determined a glass pipe allegedly used to smoke methamphetamine was in the vehicle, the report states.
