The Henleyfield Community Center in Carriere will host a Veterans Day celebration on Nov. 11.
The event will begin at 4 p.m. and conclude at about 8 p.m.
“The Henleyfield Community Center Board decided to host its first Veterans Day celebration this year and we are excited about it,” Henleyfield Community Center volunteer Loren Fortenberry said. “We will be selling BBQ dinner plates for $15. The event is open to the public and any veterans in attendance will receive a BBQ dinner plate for free.”
Autumn Rise-N, a regional band from Gulfport, will provide the entertainment at the Veterans Day celebration starting at 4 p.m.
A raffle will also be held and the lucky winner will have a chance to take home either a brand-new grill or a $100 Walmart gift card. The drawing will be held toward the end of the night.
“Many local businesses have sponsored our event and we want to invite all the veterans in the community to our event,” Fortenberry said. “Our goal is to feed and recognize any veteran in attendance.”
