Funeral Services for Mary Robson Pollitz, age 86, of Picayune, Mississippi, who passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017, will be held Wednesday, October  25, 2017, at 1:00 pm at First United Methodist Church of Picayune.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October  25, 2017 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at First United Methodist Church of Picayune. 

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery following the service under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

A native of Biloxi, MS, she graduated Biloxi High in 1949 as the Salutatorian. That same year, she married the love of her life, George.

Together, they moved to Picayune in 1954, where they raised their family. Mary was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Picayune, and taught Kindergarten there for 23 years and the 3 year old Sunday School Class for over 30 years.

She was active with the Boy Scouts, Friends of the Library, where she served on the Board, and chaperoned numerous Band and Church Youth activities. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Adah Storey Unkrich; and her brother, Charles “Buddy” Unkrich.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, George A. Pollitz, III; her sons, George A. Pollitz, IV and wife, Debbie, and Don Pollitz and wife, Maureen; her daughter, Beverly Pollitz Thigpen; eight grandchildren, Allen Pollitz, V, Lance  (Kelly) Pollitz, Andrew (Elisha) Pollitz, Robson (Krystal) Pollitz, Don Pollitz, Jr., Mary Pollitz, Sarah Thigpen, and James Thigpen; and 13 great grandchildren.
