With the cold weather around the corner, Picayune Farmers Market at Goodyear Baptist Church will hold its final three farmers markets of the year in the upcoming weeks.
The first farmers market will take place on Oct. 28 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
All vendors on-site will sell homegrown or homemade items such as honey, bread, embroidery and wood crafting items.
“We’ll also have local farmers who will sell vegetables that they grown on their own,” Donna Wise, organizer of the farmers market, said. “We are looking to sell more goods to the community and draw more people to our venue.”
The last two Picayune Farmers Markets will take place on Nov. 11 and Nov. 25 during those same hours.
Poplarville will also host its final two farmers markets of the year on Nov. 2 and Nov. 16.
Both Poplarville Farmers Markets will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., but the second one might close at an earlier time due to Daylight Savings Time. The Poplarville market will feature its regular vendors with some of the selections to include homemade ice cream, fall veggies, flowers, frozen blueberries and honey.
Red Gate Bison Ranch from Poplarville will also be on-site selling bison meat. The Poplarville market will take place on the Town Green on Main St. The Picayune market is located at 4710 Highway 43 S.
“We will have a variety of items in our farmers market and these two will be the last ones of the year until early May of next year,” April Grecho, organizer of the Poplarville Farmers Market, said.
