Services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Donald Lynn Parker will officiate at the services.
John Wayne Jefferson, aka Bushwacker, 64, of Picayune, answered his Master’s Call on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 embraced by his loving family.
He was born April 18, 1953, in Tylertown, Mississippi and later moved to Picayune where he was an entrepreneur as a logger and landscaper.
John Wayne was the son of Doretha Magee of Picayune and the late Warren Jefferson. He was the fourth of six born to this union.
He was baptized at an early age and accepted Christ as his personal Savior.
John was a graduate of Washington Carver High, Class of 1971 and also attended Alcorn State University.
He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Jefferson; two brothers, James Jefferson and Tadarral Marks (Peanut); maternal grandparents, James and Tattena Galloway; paternal grandparents, Morris and Mary Jefferson. Wayne shared a special place in the hearts of many.
He is survived by his daughter, TaMara Craft of Foxworth, Mississippi; his loving mother, Mrs. Doretha Magee Jefferson of Picayune; two sisters, Maxie (Levone) Ratcliff of New Orleans, Louisiana and Tattena (Albert) Collins of Saucier, Mississippi; four brothers, Alton Jefferson of Picayune, Clifton (Yvette) Jefferson of Memphis, Tennessee, Tommy Holloway of Picayune and Greg Nelson, Pascagoula; two grandchildren, JaWaylin Sibley and TaCorrie Payton of Foxworth; his prize possessions were his dogs, Sheba and Jessie; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Interment will be in the Picayune Cemetery.
