Funeral Services for Leon Joseph Rose, age 87, of Picayune, Miss., who passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017, will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at New Palestine Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at New Palestine Baptist Church. Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Rev. R.T. Buckley will officiate the service, assisted by Dr. Josh Braddy.

A native of Picayune, MS, he was retired from the United States Navy, and was a retired self employed repairman. Leon was a member of New Palestine Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Frence Rose and Irene Shultz Rose; his sons, Tommy Lee Rose and Byron Bilbo; and his brothers, Paul Rose and Billy Rose.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Gwen Buckley Rose; his children, Bobby Joe (Dianne) Rose, Billy Wayne Rose, and Melynda (Max) Moseley; his daughter-in-law, Cindy Rose; 11 grandchildren, Jeremy Joseph (Megan) Rose, Jennifer Jean (Brad) Rose Norris, Jessica Joy (Justin) Rose Dalton, Adam (Shemuel) McCraney, Brandon Rose, Scott Bilbo, Aaron (Jessica) Bilbo, Angela (Philip) Slack, Jamie (John) Daniels, Sarah Moseley, and Daniel Moseley; 10 great grandchildren; and his brother, Herman (Marilyn) Rose.
