Funeral service will be held Monday June 26, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Green Grove Baptist Church for Jason “J.” Smith Sr. age  40 of Poplarville, Miss.,  who died June 17, 2017 in Poplarville. 

Rev. Joey Marks will officiate at the service. Burial in the Rose Park Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.

A native of Poplarville, he was a truck driver, a member of Green Grove Baptist Church, A Youth Advisor, Mason of Square Deal Lodge #562, Associate Coach Commissioner for Basketball, Football, Baseball. 

Wife Christy Smith of Poplarville, 2 daughters Kadeshia Smith, Ja’Naysia Smith Of Poplarville, 1 son Jason Smith Jr., 4 brothers Mario Pittman, Len Pittman, Ivan Pittman, Andre Powell all of Poplarville, 1 sister Shaquita Pittman of Poplarville, father Herbert Thomas of Poplarville, preceded in death by mother Queenie Mae Smith, brother Ronald Marshon Smith, grandmother Queen Esther Thomas, grandfather Nathaniel Smith. 

Visitation  Monday June 26, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Green Grove Baptist Church under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
