Heather Holliday, a native of Poplarville, MS has announced her candidacy for the Board of Alderman of Poplarville. Her family has lived here for generations and have always been called to serve as public officials for the county and the city. Her father is Gen. Hudson Holliday and mother is Paulette Holliday. She has a 13 year old daughter, Elizabeth Holliday Anderson, who is the light of her life. Her reason for running are simple, she’s tired of the status quo.
Leadership is a quality that she possesses along with a plan to bring our city up to date and the backbone to push it through to accomplish our goals. As the broker/owner of Holliday Real Estate it is her goal to promote and sell the city of Poplarville and Pearl River County, to both individuals and businesses. Our wonderful community has struggled for years to bring in new business to support both citizens in our community and the tax base. It’s time for a plan. Her goals are:
—Develop and institute a plan for city wide street repair and maintenance
—Promote the city and county working together to complete projects in a more cost effective and timely manner
—Focus on bringing in new industry and/or businesses to increase revenue and provide stable jobs with a positive pay scale for citizens of Poplarville
—Clean up city owned properties and safety hazards to best utilize city properties
