Carolyn Theresa Capraro Winkler passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the age of 79. She was the loving wife of 38 years to Charles Gabriel Winkler, Sr.

A kind and compassionate mother of Catherine Olive Winkler, Charles Gabriel Winkler, Jr., Kyle Patrick Winkler (Arlene), Steve Charles Winkler (Cathy) and the late Karen Marie Winkler.

She was a caring grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous family members including her cousins Mary Noel Dolese, Gilbert Dolese, Patty Melson and Georgette and Louis Regan.

She was a great friend of 44 years to Elaine Vicknair and Ina Spadoni. She leaves behind her puppy Bruiser, her littlest love.

“Miss Universe”, as those close to her knew her as, could brighten a day with just her smile. She had a way of making you feel comfortable with her ability to always listen and her warm presence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM.  Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM until service time.
