Saturday’s bout was a tale of two extremes for the Blue Devils. At first, sloppy defense and inconsistent batting limited PRC’s approach to game two against Long Beach. But in the seventh inning, down by 5-2, the Blue Devils clawed their way to victory, scoring three runs before Caleb Tynes hit a walk-off single with the bases loaded to give the home crowd a show to remember for a life time. PRC beat Long Beach 6-5.
“That’s not how we want to win games, but tight games like this serve a good purpose as we go through the playoffs and hopefully we can continue to ride this wave,” PRC Head Coach Neil Walther said.
Full coverage of the PRC vs. Long Beach series will be featured in Tuesday’s edition of the Item.
