Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics agents and other law enforcement officers executed a search warrant Thursday evening at a Picayune residence and uncovered opioids, guns and cash, MBN Director John Dowdy said in press release issued Friday evening.
MBN agents arrested Wayne Thomas Wadel Jr., 58, and charged him with two counts of sale of a controlled substance and possession with intent to transfer in the ongoing drug investigation, Director Dowdy said.
Agents seized approximately 50 dosage units of Oxycodone, an opioid/prescription painkiller. In addition, MBN agents seized an undisclosed amount of bulk cash, 48 rifles, shotguns and handguns, Director Dowdy said.
Director Dowdy said he appreciates the continued partnership with the Hancock County Sheriff Department and Pearl River County Sheriff Department, who assisted the MBN in Wadel’s arrest.
The suspect was transported to the Hancock County Adult Detention Center, booked and held pending an initial appearance.
