Services for Sgt. Jeffery Lynn Anderson, 59, of Picayune, will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthews Baptist Church, Picayune, Miss. Reverend Joey Mark will officiate at the service. Reverend Dr. Michael Kelley is pastor.
Jeffery L. Anderson was born on January 31, 1958 to Lula Mae Anderson and the late Benjamin Anderson in Picayune, Miss. He was educated at George W. Carver Schools and graduated from Picayune Memorial High School. At an early age he united with St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend James where he was baptized. He enlisted in the United States Army where he served as a diesel mechanic; ranking as a Sergeant. He received an honorable discharge.
Sgt. Jeffery Lynn Anderson answered his Master’s Call and transitioned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. He is preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Anderson; and two sisters, Willie Nell Bell and Virgie Lee Jackson.
Left to cherish his memories are his three sons, Jeffery L. Anderson, Jr., Gennarro (Natasha) W. Anderson, and Jihad Lynn Anderson; seven sisters, Mary (Gus) Termon of Knoxville, TX, Louise (Thomas) Taylor of Nebraska, Jennie (George) Nicholson, Helen (Willie) McLaurin, both of Landover, Md., Dr. Linda (Cecil) Jenkins of Picayune, Miss., Janice Anderson, and Aretha Anderson, both of Nashville, Tenn.; one brother, Benjamin (Juliette) Anderson, Jr. of Portland, Ore.; three aunts, Early Brister of Slidell, La., Melvina Jackson, and Erma Jean Baton of Portland, Ore.; one uncle, Wright Brumfield; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Picayune Cemetery with Military Honors. Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home.
