Sheriff’s department receives 14 reports of vandalism in Pine Grove

A recent string of vandalism in the Pine Grove community has the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department searching for information on possible suspects.
Sometime Tuesday night, vandals reportedly damaged 14 mailboxes and streetlights along Foxtrail Road, Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said.
While these types of incidents can happen from time to time, they don’t usually occur in the same area multiple times a year, Tucker said.
However, each incident usually involves more than one mailbox being damaged along the same street, he said. Juveniles are often determined to be responsible for this type of crime when it does occur, Tucker said.
The Sheriff’s Department is still searching for suspects and asks the public to report any relevant information about the incident by calling the department at 601-798-5528.
“We need help from the community to solve these types of crimes,” Tucker said.
The extent of the damage was not known by press time on Wednesday.
