Picayune baseball: PRCC Tournament RECAP

Picayune couldn’t hold on to its early lead, losing 10-3 to Columbia Academy in the Tide’s first bout in the PRCC Tournament Saturday afternoon. However, Picayune bounced back in the second game against Oak Forest Academy, winning 5-4.

Against the Columbia Academy Tigers, Picayune’s Jacob Brumley, Caleb Burnette and JuVonta Raymond each tallied an RBI.

Burnette took the mound first for the Tide, pitching 1.1 innings, allowing six earned runs and striking out one Tiger in the process. Tyler Penton followed, pitching 3.1 innings with four strikeouts and four earned runs against.

Picayune 5-4 Oak Forest Academy

Shaun Anderson and Trenton Lee led the Tide over Oak Forest Academy on Saturday after falling to Columbia Academy. Anderson and Lee both hit an RBI en route to a 5-4 Tide victory.
