Stephane Ayangma’s big first half catapults Picayune over Stone County 58-42

Ayangma finished the night with a notable 30 points and 19 rebounds to seal the No. 1 seed for the district tournament.

Marvun Arnold zipped around the court to collect 11 points, four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal.

Enrique Whaley led the Tomcats with 13 points, including seven in the fourth quarter.

Picayune (18-7; 4-1) will travel to Lumberton on Monday. Tip-off will be at 7:30 p.m.

Lady Tide click on all facets against Stone

Picayune girls varsity team defeated the Lady Tomcats 48-29. Alanna Smith got to an early start, scoring 7 of the Lady Tide’s 12 first quarter points, and finished with 15 points and four assists. Teammate Camille Culpepper tallied six points, nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks.

Picayune (8-11; 3-3) will play a non-district away game at Lumberton on Monday. Tip-off will be at 6 p.m.
